To renew the passion of Red Raider fans and attract greater national interest in their athletic programs, Texas Tech University announced in 2015 their “Campaign for Fearless Champions.” With the goal of building a world-class athletic center where athletes in 17 intercollegiate sports could compete, train, and achieve at the highest levels, Texas Tech hit their fundraising goals, commenced construction, and called Britten when it came time to put the finishing touches on their new, state-of-the-art Sports Performance Center.
Living up to its reputation as a single-source branding partner, Britten engaged its wood and metal fabrication divisions to satisfy the university’s wide range of dimensional signage needs. These included: LED backlighting on focal elements to create a dynamic presentation both day and night; 1” Komatex Big 12 Conference logos bordered with a 1/4″ acrylic accent; custom metal shelving and plasma-cut, 16-gauge steel “Wreck ’em Tech” letters; wooden display cases with 1/2″ tempered glass; ceiling decals; and two 9′ H x 16′ W BriteWall LED display systems with changeable backlit graphics.
Working together with university planners and staff from idea to installation, Britten served to eliminate the hassle of dealing with multiple vendors on this complex $48M build. Dispatching more than a dozen licensed and insured installers from our nationwide network of pros, Britten oversaw complete, on-site project management of the visually stunning facility. Our in-house industrial and 3D design/fabrication capabilities allowed for control over every detail, from start to finish. The grand entrance of the center along with every signage detail inside is a testament to Britten’s reputation as a dependable branding problem solver no matter what the challenge.
