Creative Concessions for Lake Monsters Baseball
Situation
For their inaugural season in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, team executives and managers wanted to expand the dining options at their home ballpark. Landing on the idea of a brick-oven pizzeria, they called the experts at BoxPop® to design and fabricate this unique, custom shipping container concession and kitchen.
Solution
After fusing two 20’ x 10’ shipping containers together, BoxPop engineers added a flip-up door to create an open-air look, and painted the exterior in the team’s trademark blue. Inside, they outfitted the pop-up with standard kitchen and bar equipment, electric, and plumbing. Parent company, Britten, Inc., fabricated three large decals for the shipping container’s interior and exterior. Installers then headed to Vermont to the prep the site and ready the custom kitchen for the home opener.
Impact
“Our new shipping container concession stand has been extremely well-received by the fans,” says Manager of Lake Monsters Pizza, Daniel Levitt. “There are so many mechanical features that have been fantastic behind-the-scenes.
