Any list that features giant Gummy Bears and a seven-foot-tall, pink pig has to be good.

In 2019, Britten produced over 5,000 custom projects for customers every month. So much great work. So many great customers. Check out this shortlist of favorites that shows off the Britten’s team’s creative mojo and our extraordinary range of fabrication capabilities.

#1. COACH GUMMY BEARS & YEAR OF THE PIG

Foam3D™ self-signs for Simon Mall Properties: Welcome to experiential retail. Britten’s dedicated foam-sculpting team took on the design of two, unique creations to engage and entertain Simon mall shoppers across America. The Vandal Gummy Bears series began as COACH® collaboration with the street artist, WhIsBE. The seven-foot, pink pig—aptly named “Simon”—was created to mark the Year of The Pig and bring luck to shoppers who posed with it then shared the image on social media. Showing off the durability of hard-coated foam, Simon the pig and the Gummy Bears went on a cross-country journey in 2019 and were seen and enjoyed at several Simon mall locations.

#2. ROLLING LOUD/QUEENS, NY

Specialty decals for Brok Décor: At every new city stop on the tour, the largest hip-hop festival in the world swaps out the look of the three-dimensional Rolling Thunder sign sitting outside the concert venue. This massive metal structure—12-feet tall and 120-feet wide—is a parameter lit, attention-grabber that gets thousands of shares on social media. Britten produced the individual decals and dispatched a team to New York do the install.

#3. MLS ALL-STAR GAME/ORLANDO, FL

BoxPop® Mobile Activation for MGM RESORTS: BoxPop® and Britten helped MGM Resorts surround soccer fans with the luxury experience of their brand with an interactive space built from modified shipping containers featuring a spacious upper and lower-deck lounge. Showcasing our 360° branding capabilities, the special-event activation featured a modern furniture package, umbrella patio tables, integrated sound system, a 35-foot truss structure, banners, and Britten RotoTop™ rotating flags.

#4. GREAT LAKES BAY INVITATIONAL/MIDLAND, MI

Foam3D™ sculptures and print branding elements for title-sponsor DOW: Tasked with creating unique branding elements for the internationally televised LPGA tournament, the Britten team sculpted hashtag letters, event logos, and selfie signs that were broadcast over social media and throughout the world during television coverage. Britten signage and displays also helped highlight DOW’s promotion of STEM careers for young people. In the week leading up to the competition, the portable STEM in Sports Learning Center provided more than 2,000 young golf fans with engaging, hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math as they relate to golf, baseball, hockey, tennis, and racing.

#5. KAABOO/SAN DIEGO, CA

BoxPop® mobile activation for MGM Resorts: The adult music festival, KAABOO, is billed as a new kind of entertainment and arts experience designed around comfort, hospitality, and good times. MGM Resorts, represented by Octagon, reached out to BoxPop®/Britten for help delivering a posh, VIP brand experience to festival fans. The BoxPop® team designed—and drove across the country to personally install—a 10’ x 20’ customized shipping container with a rooftop patio, massage area, and comfortable seating where adult music lovers could escape, sip cocktails, and lounge.

#6. NEBRASKA STATE FAIR/GRAND ISLAND, NE

Event signage and EventTruss™ modular entrances: Helping Nebraskans celebrate the landmark 150th anniversary of the “greatest carnival on the planet.” The Britten team fabricated custom banners and a modular entrance for the Grand Island event, one that welcomed fair-goers and helped speed the flow of patrons through security checkpoints, all while building hype.

#7. CONCACAF SOCCER

Foam3D™ selfie sign for Allstate: Promotion of the insurance giant’s sponsorship of Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football was “in good hands” with this Britten/Octagon collaboration. The giant, 14’ x 20’ set of goalkeeper gloves delighted fans in eight American cities over the 2019 summer season. After design collaboration and artwork approval, a 10-person Britten team fabricated and installed the 2,000-pound sculpture in just six days.

#8. BURTON US OPEN/VAIL, CO

Banners and mesh wraps for championship competition: Showcasing the most progressive riding from the world’s top athletes in both slope-style and halfpipe, the 37th Annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships returned to Vail, Colorado, in 2019. The promotion tapped Britten to produce hundreds of sponsor banners, as well as mesh wraps for the 25' vertical height meters to show just how much air competitors got over the halfpipe.

#9. DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY/DOVER, DE

Specialty decal for AdventHealth: Printed and installed over uneven, corrugated steel, the Britten team had to get a a little creative when asked to help rebrand the Daytona International Speedway for its new title sponsor. The 25,000 sq. ft. Injector decal was printed and installed in advance of the 2019 NASCAR race season. Thanks to our partners at Daytona and B3 Marketing, Inc. for bringing us along for the ride.

#10. DELTA AEROMEXICO/TAKE FLIGHT CHALLENGE

Foam3D™ fan activation for Delta AeroMexico: To highlight Atlanta United’s connection to the world of soccer, Delta Air Lines® agency rep, Octagon, partnered with Britten to create a once-in-a-lifetime brand experience for fans, customers, and Delta employees. By conceiving a unique travel contest with a Foam3D™ structures, the Britten team turned the Mercedes-Benz Stadium pitch into a globe with seven “goals” representing worldwide travel destinations: New York, Los Angeles, London, Rome, Buenos Aires, Johannesburg and Seoul. If a fan connected a shot into any of the corresponding goals, they would win a trip to that city.

#11. MEIJER SUPER CENTERS

Die-cut holiday displays for 242 Midwest locations: The original pioneer of the super center concept, our friends at Meijer are also masters of creating original retail décor during the holidays. Their seasonal displays are always wildly fun and complex with hundreds of individual components all printed and designed to fit together. It’s always all-hands-on-deck for the Britten team when the time finally comes to pull all the pieces together, individually kit-pack, and drop-ship the boxes to their 242 Midwest locations.

#12. GRACE HOPPER CELEBRATION/ORLANDO, FL

Foam3D™ sculpture for Freeman/Anita Borg Institute: To celebrate women in computing, Britten helped welcome 25,000 women technologists from around the world to the Orange County Convention Center in 2019. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is an annual conference designed to inspire and help guide the research and careers of tech-minded women. The massive, three-dimensional sculpture measured 12’ H x 29.5” W and proved a major focal point for branding and shares of social media.

#13. SIDE BY SIDE/NEW YORK, NY

Print, Foam3D™, and EventTruss™ structures for Northwell Health: Britten partnered with Octagon to welcome America’s finest to the Manhattan music festival celebrating veterans. The Memorial Day event showcased award-winning musical performances, talks by with distinguished veterans, military exhibits, and activations. Taking full advantage of New York media coverage, Britten’s project management team took charge of conceptual design, printing, fabrication, and installation of stage graphics, barricade fencing, and an attention-grabbing Foam3D™ selfie sign in the shape of a guitar headstock.

#14. FLORIDA VS. GEORGIA/JACKSONVILLE, FL

Foam3D™ selfie-signs for the City of Jacksonville: Respect to the City of Jacksonville for showing some love to college football rivals at this year’s University of Florida and University of Georgia game. City officials called on Britten to sculpt a pair of three-dimensional selfie-signs for the Gators and Bulldogs fans attending the weeklong celebration leading up to November's big kickoff.

First played in 1915 (when both true universities first met), this match-up between SEC Conference opponents has been held in the neutral city of Jacksonville since 1933. TIAA Bank Field is sold out every year with 83,000 fans attending.

#15. ROCKET MORTGAGE CLASSIC/DETROIT, MI

Foam3D™ props and event branding for PGA: A long-rumored deal to bring a PGA Tour event back to the Detroit became a reality this year when the circuit announced that Rocket Mortgage, the online arm of Quicken Loans, had agreed to a four-year deal to sponsor the event at the 100-year-old Detroit Golf Club.

Britten team delivered signs/graphics and thousands of linear feet of crowd-stopping, AdMesh™ logo perimeter fencing. Capitalizing on the exposure from major sports networks and fan shares on social media, our foam-sculpting team also concepted, built, and delivered several elaborate three-dimensional props, including giant, custom letters and a CNC-carved Rocket Mortgage Classic sign with thousands of hand placed golf balls.

#16. THE SCOOP/LOS ANGELES, CA

Large-format prints, decals, and temporary displays for Cabi: Over 3,500 women from around the country regularly attend The Scoop, a semi-annual, L.A. fashion show, collection launch, and in-depth business training hosted by Cabi. The noted women’s designer tapped Britten to deliver large-format, fashion photo prints to greet attendees at every turn, build excitement for the show, and reinforce the Cabi brand.

In addition to decals on interior columns and temporary display structures throughout the venue, the entrances to the Convention Center were draped with oversized fashion photos and colorful messaging printed on huge fabric banners—some as large as 40′ H x 40′ W—that were suspended within the cavernous spaces inside the hall.

#17. FOUR FATHERS BREWING/VALPARAISO, IN

BoxPop® mobile taproom for Valparaiso concerts/events: Searching for a way to expand their business and take advantage of downtown foot-traffic, Northwest Indiana’s Four Fathers Brewing called on the Britten/BoxPop® team to fabricate a 20’ X 10’ custom shipping container tricked out with an awning, a bar, an electrical stereo system, four-tap kegerator, and bar stools.

The BoxPop® mobile beer garden delivered exactly what the crew at Four Fathers was looking for—the ability to take advantage of busy, downtown real estate without the steep rent that comes with a brick-and-mortar location.

#18. PIAZZA POD PARK/PHILADELPHIA, PA

BoxPop® multi-use development for Post Brothers: Leading an innovative movement in dining, retail, and community recreation—Britten/BoxPop® transforms empty lots into the talk of the town. For our signature project for 2019, the team worked with Philadelphia property developers, Post Brothers, who wanted to transform a dusty, 35,000-square-foot Northern Liberties parking lot into a beautiful, mixed-use community destination. BoxPop™ customized and delivered 16 unique shipping containers in a rainbow of colors fewer than eight months after concept.

#19. AEROSMITH'S “DEUCES ARE WILD” TOUR/LAS VEGAS, NV

Giant Foam3D™ stage wings for Aerosmith: The most iconic wings in rock history. Over 50 shows and thousands of cross-country miles without fail. When Aerosmith wanted to create an eye-catching stage prop for their Las Vegas residency show, they contacted Britten to deliver a durable Foam3D™ sculpture with breakdown-portability and flashy, good looks. Conceived and created at Britten’s production facility, our dedicated foam fabrication team took hundreds of sheets of 4 x 8 foam blocks, bent along an ingenious wooden halfpipe, spray-coated with a harden finish then airbrushed for metallic sheen.
