BannerDrop® installed at Adidas’s flagship store in NYC
The new Adidas flagship store on 5th Avenue is world’s first to install remote-controlled BannerDrop® ceiling hoists to raise and lower displays, shoes, mannequins and more.
This was the scene on 5th Avenue in front of the new Adidas flagship store on Thursday, December 1st: Mobs of people waiting in line to see celebrity guests including members of the New York Knicks, hip-hop artists Desiigner and Joey Badass, DJ Esco, fashion model Karlie Kloss and many more as they entered the incredible 45,000-square-foot, four-story super store.
The floors were packed with people and product, while above them over 30 radio frequency hoists were installed in the ceilings, each capable of lifting media to a display height of 60 feet. BannerDrop® display systems can be found in the ceilings of over 700 major shopping malls that generate revenue with advertising and display banners. But here on 5th Avenue, the products are king and the store designers will be lifting mannequins, displays, banners and more by simply pushing a remote control. The colossal four-story Adidas store is the largest ever for the company and offers a host of unique features that look to lure in shoppers and drive social media buzz.
Simon Property Group – the largest retail developer in the world – launched their SkyBanner Network in 2006 which has delighted advertisers with high impact displays in high traffic locations. The double-sided banners are seen coast to coast in three standard sizes. BannerDrop saves Simon Malls money by eliminating lift rental and insurance costs, and makes installations a breeze.
