Top 10 Epic Projects of 2017

Top 10 Epic Projects of 2017

by Britten Inc

Britten handled a range of great projects this year and added two exciting products to our range of services (including Foam3D™ sculptures and BoxPop™ customized shipping containers). But out of everything we touched upon in 2017, we felt that these 10 projects highlight Britten’s extraordinarily wide range of capabilities. We had the privilege of working with hundreds of the world’s biggest brands on some pretty darn cool projects, and we genuinely loved every minute of it.

As we all look to new beginnings in 2018, we’d like to take a look back at a handful of our great projects from the past year. We want to sincerely thank all of our customers that helped make this our very best year to date.

BannerWrap frames installed at Uline Area

No. 10 — Uline Arena (Washington, D.C.)

We partnered with Douglas Development to create custom BannerWrap frames, large format print and installation for a branding project at this historic arena in our nation’s capital. Our print artists enjoyed being able to create art that brought several historic moments to life, including the first Beatles concert in the USA in 1964, and having the first African American participate in a NBA game hosted at the arena.

BoxPop Customized Shipping Container for Bud Light Friend Zone

No. 9 — Bud Light Friend Zone (Miami, FL)

We’ve been enjoying event branding for teams across the country, including this BoxPop™ mobile activation at home games for the Miami Dolphins.

Britten collaborated with Activate, Inc. to create this interactive experience for tailgaters, known as the “Bud Light Friend Zone”.

In addition to the structure itself — which featured a second story lounge — highlights included a DJ booth, a pair of beer can walls, a photo backdrop for fans to pose with cheerleaders, a custom branded Claw Machine game for a chance to snag plush footballs and other merchandise, corn hole boards, and a marquee sign that was cut from Foam3D™ material.

Texas Tech University

No. 8 — Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX)

The Red Raiders completed their brand new, state-of-the-art Sports Performance Center. Fans are delighted, and student-athletes nationwide have responded with greater interest for their athletic programs. The facility boasts world-class opportunities to compete, train, and achieve at the highest levels in all sports.

From concept to execution, Britten oversaw complete project management which continued on site for weeks leading up to the fabrication and installation of this project. In-house industrial and 3D design allowed for control over every detail, from start to finish.

The grand entrance is a testimonial to the multi-faceted capabilities that Britten was able to deliver to this visually spectacular architectural project!

ExperiGreen Fleet Graphics Truck Decal 3M ControlTac

No. 7 — Fleet Graphics (Multiple Cities)

Earlier this spring, ExperiGreen announced that they would be introducing lawn service to seven metropolitan areas across the United States. Their fleet of trucks and vans includes 52 unique vehicles which were wrapped with specialty 3M decal by Britten’s certified installers.

The artwork was designed in house by Britten Inc and had to conform precisely to each specific make and model.

Burton US Open Mesh Banners

No. 6 — Burton US Open (Vail, CO)

Whether you were watching on television or you made the trip to Vail, large format branding was wherever you looked.

Britten produced the mesh banners that line the halfpipes, that wrap the towers  measuring how high the snowboarders are in the air, and surrounded the free event stage.

There was also a Pop Up Shop that allowed spectators to design their own custom snowboards.

Kenny Chesney's #NoShoesNation Stage Curtain

No. 5 —  Kenny Chesney Tour (Boston, MA)

This huge concert backdrop was on display at Gillette Stadium, where Kenny Chesney was rockin’ the stage for #NoShoesNation. This wall of heavy knit fabric measures a staggering 40′ H x 80′ W and required special fabrication so the curtain could be lifted like an accordion.

For years, Britten has been the behind-the-scenes manufacturer for custom stage & theatrical drapes for everything from the small stage to huge stadium backdrops. Even the country super star had kind words to say about this fabulous curtain!

3D Foam sculpture for NBC's Winter Olympics

No. 4 — 2018 Winter Olympics for TV 7&4 (Traverse City, MI)

Britten attended the premiere party for our local affiliate UpNorthLive at the Dennos Museum Center, setting up backdrops and wheeling in a custom statue for the upcoming 2018 Winter NBC Olympics.

Using our new Foam3D™ equipment, a large block of foam was carved into the shape of the Peacock and the Olympic rings, then primed and painted. 7&4’s media team also documented the process, and are putting together a video that will be posted online soon.

“Thank you to ALL for making our event last night a huge success! The museum looked amazing. We had many compliments, excellent photos ops with the football backdrop and a fun game of corn hole with our clients. Your work and dedication to pull this off has definitely been recognized.”

San Francisco 49ers Levis Stadium Entrance EventTruss

No. 3 — San Francisco 49ers (Santa Clara, CA)

Out west, Britten Services dispatched half a dozen EventTruss™ structures and semi-portable RotoTop™ flag pole systems to help welcome and direct fans into Levi’s Stadium.

Five of the entrances measured 16′ H x 24′ W and the largest measured 16′ H x 32′ W, weighted with 275 gallon water drums. In addition to serving as highly visible event branding and wayfinding for foot traffic, the mesh banners indicated items prohibited from the stadium and “thanks for coming!” directions to nearby interstate routes.

Little-Caesars-Arena-Mesh

No. 2 — Little Caesars Arena (Detroit, MI)

Becoming the only city in America to host four major sports teams downtown, all of Detroit was thrilled to see the doors open at Little Caesars Arena.

The construction has been a major undertaking that’s been a work-in-progress for well over a year.

Britten’s print division worked our large format printers around the clock to deliver over 77,000 square feet of mesh barricade fencing for Olympia Development, which surrounds the construction perimeter and built a buzz around this district in downtown Detroit.

3D Foam Entrance Structure for the Denver Broncos

No. 1 — Denver Broncos (Denver, CO)

The Denver Broncos unveiled a new entrance structure this season that was designed & fabricated by Britten. Standing over 25’ tall, the three Broncos heads were carved out of foam blocks using our new 3D modeling equipment and spray coated with a durable protective layer before being painted to withstand the elements at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium.

Combining foam, truss & pyrotechnics, the entire structure had to be set up and broken down quickly, look spectacular and create a dynamic experience for Broncos fans in attendance as well as everyone watching their live debut on Monday Night Football.

How can we help with your next creative project?

Thanks again for a wonderful year, and please think of us in 2018 whenever you need specialty fabrication for your special project.

We sincerely appreciate you and your patronage and wish you the very best.

Cordially,

Paul
