A long-rumored deal to bring a PGA Tour event back to the Detroit became a reality when the circuit announced that Rocket Mortgage, the online arm of Quicken Loans, had agreed to a four-year deal to sponsor the event at the 100-year-old Detroit Golf Club.
Britten delivered sign/graphics and thousands of linear feet of crowd-stopping advertising— AdMesh™ logo perimeter fencing. Seizing on the certain exposure from major sports networks and fan shares on social media, a dedicated team also concepted, built, and delivered several elaborate FOAM3D™ props, including giant, custom letters and a CNC-carved Rocket Mortgage Classic sign with thousands of hand placed golf balls.
Tournaments don’t release attendance numbers, but estimates ranged somewhere between 40,000 and 70,000. PGA Executive Director Jason Langwell told The Detroit News that the crowd probably reached the high-end of those numbers. “Michigan is such a great golfing state, and the enthusiasm here is absolutely incredible,” PGA’s Mark Russel echoed in the report. “You can judge by that by the crowds. I think it’s been a tremendous success.”
