Situation
In December of 2019, Michigan legalized sports betting and, as a result, dozens of casinos began developing sports bar/gambling spaces. Petosky’s Odawa Casino collaborated with I5 Design, a high-impact casino construction company, to transform their existing Ozone Nightclub into Victories Sports & Entertainment lounge. Needing of a team of professional artisans they could trust to deliver quality work on time, I5 contracted WoodWorks to take their vision from idea to installation.
Solution
Working under a tight deadline before their grand opening, WoodWorks started with the casino’s main centerpieces—two, huge bars with sleek, quartz countertops. Partnering with Britten MetalWorks, the team designed custom footrails for the base of each bar. Several custom booths—complete with custom upholstery—were constructed to provide additional seating. Modern hand and drink rails were also created to add artful functionality along with curved, wooden trim pieces that accented the venue’s walls.
Impact
Team WoodWorks traveled to Petoskey with trucks full of modern millwork and installed each individual piece with efficiency and care. From conceptual drawings to delivery, they completed the entire project in just two, short months. Victories Sports & Entertainment now hosts an array of sports-lovers every weekend and is quickly becoming one of the top sports betting destinations in Northern Michigan.
